We might be in denial, but it's true...summer is coming to an end. Long summer days and time off might be waning, but your luminous, relaxed summer glow doesn't have to! We've compiled just a few inexpensive (or free) self-care things you can do to extend your lueur d'été (that's summer glow in French 😉)!
SOAK: Take an epsom salt bath at night time a few times a week. The high magnesium content releases toxins from your pores. It will also promote healthy skin cell growth and a fresh and glowing complexion. You'll also sleep like a baby! Two cups of salt under running water, and soak for at least 12 minutes for optimal results.
EXFOLIATE: Use a soft washcloth to gently cleanse and exfoliate your skin every day. It helps to more thoroughly remove dirt and makeup than using your hands. You'll also see your skin's texture improve. Smoother skin with less breakouts and redness!
EXERCISE: Above everything else you can do, exercise is the number one way to improve your health. But did you know, you can also improve your skin's condition by exercising regularly? Five times a week for 30 minutes or more, and reap these benefits. Exercise regularly and toned skin, cell regeneration, toxin release and much needed emotional boost can all be yours.
EAT: It's easy to eat well in the summer with fresh fruits and veggies aplenty. The key is to maintain eating these foods all year round for optimal hydration, vitamins and anti-aging benefits. The more brightly colored food (think berries and greens like kale) the more antioxidant benefits you will reap. While you're at it, make sure you're drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. Since a lot of fruits aren't in season in the fall/winter, flash frozen berries work in a pinch!
