Scorpio Season: A Time For Reflection + Renewal

Scorpio is the 8th sign in the Zodiac and is therefore the natural ruler of the 8th house: the house of death + rebirth, intimacy, shamanism, soul-merging, finances/inheritance, karma, debt, transformation, mystery, alchemy, the occult, psychic knowing, and intuition. Co-ruled by Mars (the planet of action + aggression) and Pluto (the planet of power + transformation), Scorpio is a fixed water sign infamously represented by the Scorpion.

The archetypes associated with Scorpio are that of the shaman, the witch, the alchemist, the psychic, the investigator, the medium, the sleuth, the phoenix rising from the ashes. As a water sign, Scorpio is deeply in tune with the energetics of its surrounding environment, acutely aware of unseen subtleties and energies, picking up on the smallest and most obscure of clues and details of a person or a situation. Scorpio doesn't miss anything and is often spot on with its observations.

Scorpio, with its uncanny ability to see right through any facade or superficiality, is a natural detective and lie-detector. While this probing energy can intimidate and unnerve, the gold of Scorpio is that it invites us to get real with what's going on, with the truth, to go deep and be vulnerable, reaching new levels of intimacy with ourselves and others. Scorpio goes to the source, to the root, asking us to face what we've been running away from so that we can alchemize it, integrate it and live our lives from a place of unconditional love, acceptance, and wholeness.

On October 23rd, the sun enters Scorpio where it will remain until November 21st. During Scorpio season, we will see both Mars (the planet of aggression) and Mercury (the planet of communication + thought) enter into Scorpio as well, meaning the next month has the potential to be...intense. The gift that Scorpio season brings us is the inner reflection and healing that leads to positive change and rebirth. This is a potent time for shadow work, inner child work, energy healing and connecting to your Higher Self. The veil is thin now.
Scorpio is one of the more misunderstood signs of the Zodiac. Notoriously represented by the Scorpion, Scorpio has a reputation of manipulation, power struggles, deception, aggression, and darkness. And while this represents the lower octaves of the sign, there is so much more to Scorpio.

Scorpio in its highest octave is the shaman, the alchemist, the Phoenix rising from the ashes, bringing us to the depths of our soul, asking us to release and surrender. To shed layers and layers of what no longer is serving us. To die man times to ourselves for ourselves - to be reborn.

Scorpio, ruling the 8th house, the house of death, mystery, and the occult reminds us that our soul is eternal and that through challenges, delays, pain, suffering, endings, there is also opportunity for love, healing, forgiveness, and growth.

Scorpio = change. So many of us have an interesting relationship with change. Change is the only constant in this world, but many of us have a deep fear of the unknown and resist it. This causes us to hold onto relationships, ways of being, situation, jobs, that are unfulfilling and not serving us.

While change is scary, so is staying the same. Embrace change.

Scorpio seasons asks us to turn inward, to plunder the depths of our own psyche, our own subconscious mind, and face with bravery that which we have been avoiding. There is light on the other side, and after night, there's day. Scorpio season asks us to release and surrender and trust what's on the other side.

Happy Scorpio Season!
